  • One of every eight Americans is 65 or older. By 2030, it will be one out of every five.
  • 80% of seniors currently have at least one chronic health condition and 50% have at least two.
  • Currently, 1 million residents live in 36,000 facilities throughout the nation. Industry analysts project resident capacity to double by 2030.
  • Elderly care is experiencing substantial annual growth. By 2014, an 83% increase is predicted in government spending alone!
  • As seniors increase at a 2.3% rate, the number of family members available to care for them will only increase at a 0.8% rate.

Great Financing Opportunities For You

Funding from the government is still the cheapest and most attractive vehicle for senior housing. In fact, government financing has taken on even greater importance this year with changes in the Section 202 reform bill.

HUD is the dominant source of government financing available to you. It will lend for both construction and permanent loans. HUD is recognized for its favorable lending terms, including 35- or 40-year terms. Additionally, HUD provides nonrecourse financing, up to 85% or 95% loan-to-value, at favorable interest rates.

Government grants (which you don’t have to re-pay!) are also available for the right project.
